The preparations to welcome the New Year and Christmas started in the college as usual by the Ladies' Committee. The Committee organized a celebration for the parents of the college in the hall of the college at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 17; 2009 parents and guests were present at the celebration.
The welcoming word was delivered by Mrs. Rita Aznavourian on behalf of the Ladies' Committee. She said that the joy of festive days would be expected by everybody, and through those happy moments people would forget their difficulties and problems and relive the happiness that they felt as children with their own children.
After the welcoming word, the students of the college presented the program of the occasion. Karin Kandaharian (Grade 8) and Rita Gragian (Grade 7) presented special Christmas poems. Later, the choir of the college, conducted by Kayane Margossian, presented four songs "Erishda," "The Song of Life," "Colorful Sky," and "On the Skirts of Arakadz." Loucine Kandaharian and Yervant Keshishian presented a duo ("Alayl Oughs") accompanied by a dance from the dancing group of the college.
In the second part of the program, Karmen Ajemian through her national and pop songs created a very enthusiastic atmosphere in the hall.
During the celebration, the principal, Mr. Vicken Avakian, had his word. He wished to the parents much success and goodness like the flooding rains. He said that the year 2009 was a very successful year for the college, and he wished that the year 2010 also bears with it new successes, and this could happen only through the united efforts and the close cooperation between parents and college.
After the principal's word, the celebration continued with songs, lottery, and with the arrival of Santa Claus.
The celebration ended at 1 p.m. Parents returned home full of gratitude and a high morale to welcome the year 2010 with optimism and joy.
