Under the patronage of the Prelate of the Armenian Diocese in Lebanon, Bishop Khegham Khatcherian, the dinner of the Board of Trustees of the college to raise funds for the "Needy Students" fund of the college took place in "Apicius" Hall of "La Cigal" Hotel on Thursday, June 10, 2010.
During the dinner, many prominent people were present: the Prelate of the Armenian Diocese in Lebanon, the mayor of the municipality of Bourj Hammoud, Mr. Antranig Messerlian, Armenian members in the municipal councils of Anjar, Antelias, Zalka, and Debaya, the president of the civil assembly of the National Body, Mr Vrej Sabounjian, members in the economical assembly, Robert Minassian and Silva Sagherian, and friends and sponsors of the college.
Dikran Kalousdian, a member in the Board of Trustees, made the opening speech and welcomed the presence. He presented the activities of the Board of Trustees during the previous academic year and asked the presence to support the Armenian school without hesitation since it is the ideal environment for educating sound humane and national generations.
The famous pianist, Hagop Arslanian, added glamour to the evening while on behalf of the Board of Trustees, Dikran Kalousdian read the names of the donors consecutively.
On this occasion, a DVD was displayed which introduced to the presence the activities held in the college during the previous academic year.
During the dinner, the principal of the college, Mr. Vicken Avakian, addressed the presence. He said that keeping a school is keeping a colony, and keeping a colony means fortifying our collective power.
By continuing, the principal Vicken Avakian mentioned that giving brings joy to the person while taking pleasure. "The friends and sponsors of the college feel happiness by giving, by giving, they feel great and give value to themselves." The principal also stated that the Armenian school remains prosperous through the efforts of everyone and turns to an institution which conforms to the demands of current times.

At the end of his word, the principal announced that the sum of the donations that had taken place during the dinner had reached $30,000 which would be added to the sum of money gathered from the activities held during the academic year by the Ladies’ Committee and by the Board of Trustees and which was $20,000 as a support to the "Needy Students" fund.

The ending speech of the dinner was delivered by the Prelate, Khegham Khatcherian. His Holiness expressed his happiness for the sum of money which was raised "drop by drop" and appreciated the present sponsors by saying that "only great ones know the meaning of giving and the meaning of helping." The Prelate praised the role and the mission of the college in our lives and said that besides the modest structure of the college, Levon and Sophia Hagopian Armenian College remains in the heart of Bourj Hammoud the spring of Armenian education from which graduates offer a great support to the Armenian life.
