On Friday, May 18 the college had its annual tour to Sidon and Shouf. In the morning, the students arrived to college loaded with special kinds of food and games. Barbeques, refrigerators, musical instruments, and food bags were all reminders of a different day.
After a long time, the seven buses of the students reached the monastery of St. Savior in the town of Joun in Shouf (33 km south-east of Beirut). They toured in the different parts of that Greek Orthodox Monastery which had a history of 300 years old. They left the place after performing the Lord’s Prayer in the church and taking a picture there.
Afterwards, the buses headed to Maghdoushe, 8 km south-east of Sidon. In Maghdoushe, they visited the miraculous cave of Sayidet el Mantara, the Basilica, and the tower.
At noon, tired and hungry, the students had the last stage of their tour in one of the restaurants of “Elmoultaka Elnahreyn” where they rented chairs and tables and prepared delicious barbeque and various kinds of food. Games, singing, and dancing followed the food. All had great time there.
On the occasion of Ascension, there was also the tradition of making a draw. The female students of the college by singing songs related to Ascension chose their draws by wishing good luck to one another.
At 5:30 in the afternoon, the students returned to the college with invigorated and refreshed moods.
